Ai-Menu not working?
Here’s what to check first.

Ai-Menu runs a lot of moving parts — POS, tablets, kiosks, QR ordering, EFTPOS, online orders. When something drops, it’s not always obvious where the fault is. Here’s what to check first, and when you need us on-site to sort it out properly.

What’s in your Ai-Menu setup?

Before diagnosing, work out which part of the system has gone wrong. Most venues are running some combination of:

Each of these depends on your venue’s network to function. If the network is unstable — or devices are on the wrong connection — the whole stack suffers.

Common Ai-Menu problems and what to check

📋
Tablet menu gone offline or frozenBlank screen, won’t load menu, or stuck on an old version
  • Check Wi-Fi is connected on the tablet — open a browser and test it
  • Force-close the Ai-Menu app and reopen
  • Restart the tablet fully, wait 30 seconds, reopen the app
  • Check the tablet is on the right network — not guest Wi-Fi
  • Menu not updating? Check whether changes were saved and published in the back office
🖥
Kiosk not accepting orders or showing an errorScreen loads but orders fail, or kiosk is stuck on a loading screen
  • Check internet connection — kiosks need a stable connection to process orders
  • Restart the kiosk hardware (power off, 30 seconds, power on)
  • If payments are failing specifically, check Ai-EFTPOS is still connected
  • Check back office for error logs against that terminal
  • If the kiosk is on Wi-Fi — it should be on wired ethernet. That’s the fix for most recurring kiosk dropouts.
📱
QR ordering not working for customersPage won’t load, or orders aren’t coming through to the POS
  • Test the QR code on a phone not connected to your venue Wi-Fi — simulates what the customer sees
  • Check whether your internet is up — QR orders route through the cloud
  • Orders placed but not showing in POS? That’s a POS sync issue, not a QR issue
  • Check QR codes point to the right table — reprinted codes can sometimes have wrong links
💳
Ai-EFTPOS not syncing with POSPayment goes through on the terminal but doesn’t reconcile in Ai-POS, or terminal shows offline
  • Restart the terminal — wait for it to fully reconnect before processing the next order
  • Check whether the terminal is on Wi-Fi or ethernet (ethernet is always more reliable)
  • Check that Ai-POS is running — the integration is two-way and needs both sides up
  • Reconciliation mismatch? Compare the Ai-POS transaction log against the terminal’s settlement report
🌐
Online orders not coming throughCustomers placed an order but it’s not appearing in the POS
  • Check your internet connection — online orders route through the cloud before hitting the POS
  • Check Ai-POS is running and not in offline mode
  • Check Ai-Online settings — is the venue marked as open and accepting orders?
  • Ask the customer if they received a confirmation email — if yes, the order was placed and the issue is at the POS end

The most common cause across all of these issues?

Your venue network. Every Ai-Menu product depends on a stable, properly configured local network. When the router is overloaded, devices are on the wrong subnet, or IP addresses are conflicting, the whole system becomes unreliable.

This isn’t something that can be fixed remotely. It needs someone physically at your venue — on your network, with a laptop — checking every connection from the router out.

Worth doing once: Put your Ai-Menu tablets, kiosk, and EFTPOS terminal on fixed (static) IP addresses, separate from your guest Wi-Fi. It’s an hour of work on-site and it eliminates most recurring Ai-Menu connectivity issues permanently.
